Crowned Fundraiser of the Year at the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) Annual Awards in May, the Royal Oak in Friday Street, near Rusper, isn`t resting on its laurels.
This Sunday sees the launch of its Tour de Rusper in aid of St Catherineâs Hospice. The 4½ mile fancy dress bike ride begins from the pub at midday. It stops at Rusper`s village shop to pick up a St Catherineâs Hospice sticker and for fancy dress judging and then returns to the pub for a BBQ.
Sara Blunden, owner of the Royal Oak, commneted: âWe have a long-standing relationship with the team at St Catherineâs Hospice and are delighted to help support the great work they do.
"We hope that lots of cyclists and some that might be new to cycling, will join us to raise money for this great cause. We also expect to attract a few people that like a fancy dress competitionâ¦and some that like fancy dress just a little too muchâÂ.
