Find Out About Fostering at Horsham Library

West Sussex County Council estimates that about 60 more foster carers are needed this year to join the existing 350 or so in the county.

To explain fostering the council`s Fostering Recruitment Team will be holding an informal information drop-in event at Horsham Library, Lower Tanbridge Way, RH12 1PJ, on Friday 24 April from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Fostering involves looking after children who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to live at home. Sometimes this is for just one night or, for some children, it is a longer term arrangement.

Graham and Sarah have been fostering for 10 years in Horsham, and during that time have helped 38 young people.

Sarah said: “Fostering with West Sussex is very rewarding, it is a privilege to be able to support children through a difficult time in their lives.

“I would encourage anyone thinking about fostering to take those first steps to find out more.”
