West Sussex County Council.has launched a county-wide journey planner. It not only calculates routes for car, bus, rail, bike and by foot, using real-time public transport information, but can also tell you how many calories you burn.
At the same time it provides data on estimated journey times, and how much carbon emissions you will produce â all on one screen. If you are considering different combinations of transport, such as cycling and rail or by bus and walking, it calculates that for you.
It also suggests potential car share matches you can make, and features every location of car club sites in the area.
At these locations you can hire a car on a pay-as-you-go basis from just £4.50 per hour and 13p per mile, which in many cases is more cost effective than owning a car.
