The Forbidden City - The Secrets of China's Imperial Palace

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing and now houses the Palace Museum.
The complex began in 1406 and consists of 980 buildings, covering 7,800,000 sq ft. Construction lasted 15 years, and required more than a million workers. This lecture looks at the lives and rituals of the Imperial Family from the first Ming Emperors to China's last Emperor in Beijing's former Imperial Palace.
